Lyrics Saturday - Site Theme Song

Happy Saturday, world.

Last night around 2:00 AM I was flat on my back in bed, staring at the ceiling, running the same mental laps most of us run when life gets quiet. You know the drill. Old mistakes. Old regrets. The “how are you still struggling with this” conversation. The “you should be better by now” conversation. The kind of self-talk that doesn’t feel like wisdom. It feels like a slow leak.

And it hit me how often we treat ourselves like we’re disposable. Like we’re one more bad choice away from being written off. Like the Lord’s love is real, but somehow not for us, not tonight, not after that thing, not after the thousandth time going back to Him with the same weakness in our hands. I remember this struggle earlier and life and having countless conversations with close friends that just hit the same walls spiritually at times.

So I started writing this song.

It turned into something I didn’t plan. It became the banner for this whole project. Because if there’s one message I want welded into the foundation of ByLordRedeemed.com, it’s this:

The Father loves mercy.
He isn’t stingy with it.
He isn’t irritated by your need for it.
He doesn’t “finally” give it once you’ve impressed Him.
He delights in it.

I heard the words of the apostle Jeffrey R Holland as he talked about how that something that the Father loves more than anything in this world and that is to show mercy to his imperfect children. And this inspired this jam.

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is not something fragile. It doesn’t cover the “easy sins” and then run out when you get messy. I think our feeble minds and the natural man in us try to trick us into believing otherwise. The Atonement is the kind of power that actually means what we say it means. It’s meant to lift burdens, not just label them. It’s meant to restore the unredeemed, not just reprimand.

That’s the heartbeat of this song. Musically, I had a specific pocket in my head. Modern pop/R&B/soul, that smooth uplifting bounce, like the kind of groove that sounds light but carries weight. I wanted it to be the kind of song you can nod your head to while your heart is getting rebuilt.

About the artwork

The cover art is intentionally simple and loaded at the same time. It’s a stencil on a wall. A person in bed. A beam of warm light cutting in. You can overanalyze it if you want, but the point is straightforward: when everything around you is dark, mercy still finds a way to break in.

That’s what this song is.
Not hype. Not performance.
A quiet rescue.

I’ll post the lyrics here, and when the track is finished I’ll drop the audio as well. If you’ve been carrying that heavy inner voice lately, I hope this interrupts it for a minute and reminds you of something true:

You are not too far gone.
You are not “past due.”
You are not the exception to grace.

By Lord… redeemed.
